Either way, the truth is that it is a really cold Sunday night. Way too cold to ride my bike and visit unsuspecting friends. Way too cold to go to ward prayer. Way too cold to do ANYTHING except sit on my couch in my sweatpants and watch cat videos by myself on my computer.
Thing is, I don't even like cats. They generally creep me out. I can tell when I am being silently judged and I do not like it. This is ironic, considering how many cat lovers I have lived with. Last year both of my roommates would carry cans of cat food in their backpacks, in case they found a stray. My freshman roommate had a habit of watching cat videos late at night, which I mocked genially but openly.
I don't know when I shifted from thinking "Cats are the worst" to thinking "Cats are kind of the worst, but also hilarious; I really enjoy funny cats and other cat-related things on the internet." I feel myself embracing the whole thing with a sarcastic honesty– and I'm frightened that I can't decide what percentage of me is sarcastic and what percent is honest. [Is Memory still tragically beautiful when everyone is dressed up as cats?!??]
Um. Yeah. So, now that we've got that out in the open... time for some cat stuff, amiright??
The First Movie Ever Filmed By Cats.
8 minutes of pure heaven. Watch it at 2 in the morning and preferably with the sound off. -Tori Simpson
I have never wanted any sweatshirt as badly as I want this one.
Also, here is a hilarious but true post my friend wrote about the Cat Writers Association.
Goal: Encourage cat writing in general newspapers and magazines. Improve the quality of writing about cats.
You see why I have a problem.
How have I not discovered your blog until now?? Excited to start reading!

And if you haven't seen it, enjoy, and watch it on repeat like a true lover of cat videos would. (p.s. I totally hate cats too, they've always freaked me out but I can't help but love cat videos...you'd have to be a doormat to not appreciate them!)
Yes, cats = creepy. And sometimes funny.
